Ad Orientem brings together the places, people, news, and resources of the Traditional Latin Mass so that more people can find it, understand it, and help it endure.
What this is
A directory, a calendar, a newsroom, a creator hub, and a set of tools for people trying to build something where they live. The parts are connected on purpose: a location knows its diocese, its institute, its sources, and the stories that mention it.
The thing that is hard to copy is not the design. It is the structured, verified relationship between locations, schedules, dioceses, institutes, communities, clergy, source documents, events, stories, and the history of how each was confirmed.
How it is run
By one person, with help. The operating target is that ninety per cent of the work is automated, nine per cent is done by verified contributors and editors, and one per cent needs the founder. Every feature has to pass one test: can it operate at ten thousand locations without needing materially more of anyone's time?
That constraint is why the automation is conservative and why the review queues exist. It is not a limitation to be worked around; it is the design.
What it is not
- Not a ratings site. We do not rank priests, parishes, or celebrations.
- Not a forum. There is no comment section and no anonymous posting.
- Not an authority. We report what dioceses and institutes publish; we do not authorise anything.
- Not for sale. Advertisers cannot influence verification, editorial, or ranking.
