Who decides what, and what they are not permitted to decide.
Editorial
Editorial decisions rest with the editorial desk. Sensitive stories — accusations, canonical disputes, stories naming individuals in conflict, and anything carrying legal risk — require a named editor's approval before publication and can never be published automatically.
Verification
Verification decisions rest with regional editors and reviewers working from published sources. Where two sources disagree, a person decides; the system never picks a winner on confidence alone.
Charitable distribution
There is no charitable giving program yet, and no advisory group or grant committee currently exists — that would be premature to claim before real giving begins. Our intention, once the platform is sustainable, is that an independent advisory group would review and approve every distribution, and that the founder would not distribute funds unilaterally. Recipients would need to be financially transparent, operationally credible, directly serving the poor, consistent with Catholic moral teaching, and able to document how funds were used. This section will be updated to describe the real governance in place once the program actually launches.
The firewall
Commercial decisions are separated from editorial and verification decisions. No advertiser, sponsor, or patron has any influence over reporting, a listing's status, or ranking. This is a structural rule, enforced in the system rather than left to judgement.
