Find a Latin Mass
Traveling
Finding Mass somewhere you do not live, in a language you may not speak.
Before you go
- Search the city, then widen to the country. A capital usually has more than one option; a small city may have one monthly Mass.
- Check the last-confirmed date on the listing, not just the time. A listing confirmed last week is worth far more than one confirmed last year.
- If the listing is marked as needing confirmation, telephone or email the church. Parishes are used to the question and it takes a minute.
- Check whether the Mass is weekly or monthly. A first-Sunday-only Mass is the classic way to arrive on the wrong weekend.
Once you are there
The Latin is the same everywhere, which is much of the point. The sermon will be in the local language, and the parish notices will not be for you. Arrive a little earlier than you would at home; you will need a moment to work out the building.
